Sport Relief and Devon Performing Arts Festival

Welcome back. Today is Sports Relief. In the morning we tried out three new sports: boules, badminton and nightline. In the afternoon, all classes are doing a run. Key Stage One will be 5 laps (1 mile) and Key Stage Two will be doing 10 laps (2 miles).

The Devon Performing Arts Festival was held at South Street Baptist Chapel in Exeter on the 11th March. Class 4 performed ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling and ‘Hooray for Bread’ by Alan Ahlberg. We came second and got a distinction. Mrs Nott was really pleased with us, as this is the first time we have entered the competition.

World Book Day

Hello and welcome back to Witheridge blog. Today is another very exciting day at our school as today is World Book Day! The theme for this year is The Jolly Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. In each class, children completed different themed activity. We made gingerbread men, wrote letters to the Three Little Pigs, built houses for the characters and made envelopes, and completed a delivery route obstacle course. Penny and Evie won prizes for the best decorated gingerbread men. We ended the day with Goldilock’s Tea Party. We all had a brilliant day!
