What a busy week it’s been in school. This week we have been celebrating Maths Week. Every morning, instead of the ‘word of the day’, we’ve been doing a Maths problem (or two). We went outside on Friday to build shapes out of sticks and logs. Our shapes had to be 8-12m in perimeter and the area had to be between 5 and 10 squared metres. My group made a rectangle which measured 5m long and 1m wide. Other groups made squares, a trapezium and a cross.
On November 11th, we had 2 minutes of silence for Remembrance Day. We were remembering the soldiers that fought for our rights. The whole school was silent, even our smallest children in Preschool. Daisy May and Alby, as our Head Boy and Head Girl, made a poppy video telling us about how much the merchandise cost and how and where to buy it in school.
We also had Children in Need day. We brought in money to buy a treat and to wear something special to celebrate and raise money. I wore a hoodie and joggers. Some people wore football kits and pyjamas. Mr Manning, of course, was dressed like a flamingo! The treat was chocolate cracknel and it was deliciously sticky. We had to wash our hands – again! – after we had munched our way through it.
Hope you have a good weekend. Remember to stay safe and take care of each other during lockdown.
