To start of the week on Monday afternoon most year sixes had their 2nd swimming lesson in Tiverton Leisure Centre plus year fives had P.E. with Mr Doble.
For the whole morning on Tuesday, we started researching (comparing and contrasting) Exmoor National Park and Sanjay Gandhi National Park. This carried on throughout the week. It was really fun and we had a lot of freedom to choose how we presented it.
In the morning on Wednesday, 12 people from year 5 and year 6 went to High Bickenton, along with Pilton Bluecoat, to do some orienteering. They had to hold onto a hoola-hoop and find different markers with maths questions on them. Even though it was pouring down with rain most of the day, it was fun to see other schools. Back in school, the others carried on with the research of Exmoor National Park and Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
On Thursday afternoon, the year 6 children went for their final swimming lesson and their second one this week.
On Friday morning, the year 6 children went under the shelter to talk to a lady from Chumleigh called Sherrin. She got the year sixes to do an activity where there are three sections, she called out something that we might be nervous about about and we have to choose if we were very nervous about it, a little bit nervous about it or not at all nervous about it. She also gave the year sixes a booklet. It was really fun talking to Sherrin because it was nice to talk about other people who had the same worries as us.
Golden Time lasted for a very long time this week, as it started before celebration assembly and then went on until home time. We played with the wet play games and some of Mrs Nott’s board games. This was very fun because we were able to play with or friends. We played the code game, and tried to stack a pyramid. Also, we built a complicated marble run. We didn’t have instructions – we had to just work from the picture. Trying to time the marbles right was a challenge!
We hope that the last few days will be as fun as this week and that we can sit with our friends more.
